A Black Hills National Forest fire in southwest South Dakota has grown to 546 acres but remains partially contained. Forest Service spokeswoman Bonnie Jones says no structures have been threatened and no injuries have been reported in the Apple Fire, which was started by lightning on Wednesday. It is the largest wildlife so far this season in the Black Hills. The fire was 15 percent contained late Thursday. Jones did not immediately have an update Friday morning. The fire is being fought on the ground and in the air. Jones says firefighters will be aggressively patrolling areas adjacent to the fire line to guard against gusty winds spreading the flames.
